This rig is set up with lots of storage. Great for Rock Climbers, Nature Photographers, Sky and SCUBA Divers, Para Gliders, or, like me, Contractors.

What you see here is an accumulation of a year and a half of work into the design and build of a one off Adventure Van on a then brand new 2018 Ford Transit by a professional craftsman with 40 years of experience in the trades.

This vehicle was built to travel, explore back country and be self contained and has done just that. In fact, it’s done so well, I’m building a large Overland rig to explore even deeper and further.

The Van:

A 2018 Ford Transit T-250 Medium Roof

3.7L gas, 3:73 rear w/LS Differential, Push Button Emergency Brake, 2.5” Van Compass Lift. Power Windows, Locks, Navigation, Large Screen Rear Back Up Camera, Front and Rear Dash Cameras, Rear View Mirror Camera, Heated power folding mirrors, Rear Parking Sensors, Ten Way power/swivel/heated Drivers Seat, Swivel/heated Passenger Seat, Factory Rear Hitch w/Factory Electric Brake Controller, Van Compass Front 12,000 lb Hidden Winch with hitch receiver and recovery hooks, Van Compass Rear Diff Skid Plate, Custom Summit Engineering Roof Rack, Carefree Power Awning. 12.2 gallon undermount Propane tank w/remote fill, remote gauge, barbecue port. 270 watts of Solar, 200amp/hr Battleborn Lithium Ion Batteries, City Water Connection, Remote Water Tank Fill, Outdoor Shower, Outdoor Fresh Water Washdown. Cargo Box, Flare Space Body Flares fir East/West sleeping, CR Laurence Sliding Door window. Van was treated with Waxoly Rustproofing when put into service.

The Interior:

Full Kitchen with two burner cooktop, Dometic Refrigerator with Freezer, Sink with Hot and Cold running water. Full Size Bed, Natures Head Composting Toilet, 30amp Shore Power, Progressive Dynamics AC/DC Power Distribution Micro Mini Fuse Panel, 30amp Shore Power, Progressive EMS- HW30 Hardwired Electrical Surge and Power Management System, Propex HS2000 Air Heater with Thermostat controls. Two Hardwired Carbon Monoxide/LP Gas Detectors, Whale Expanse Water Heater, 12v LED dimmable Lighting, MaxxAir Deluxe Vent Fan, Dometic Heki Mini Opening Skylight, Custom Cedar Cabinetry, All cabinetry was custom made using 3/4” pre finished cabinet grade plywood and then faced with reclaimed cedar fence board. Ceiling, sink and kitchen back panel are all new galvanized metal and then acid washed and patinaed for a rustic look. Bed is a custom 5” thick memory foam mattress by Trucker Mattress, 4 – 3.0 amp USB ports, 3 – 120v outlets, custom flat floor between seats, All doors, ceilings and walls were covered with Uxcell 10mm sound deadener and then insulated with 2” 3M Thinsulate insulation. 31 gallon Inbound Fresh Water tank with remote fill. 20 Gallon, Heated and Insulated Grey Water Tank.

I’m 6’4” and live in here full time with no issues. That said, some have asked for these measurements so here they are:

Ceiling height is 68.5”
Bed length is 77” (6’ 4” adults fit well)
Bed width is 48” (easily sleeps two, cozy with three)
