Clifford the big red van has been an amazing memory maker for it's current owners over the last few years but now Clifford is ready to help make memories for some new travelers who want a fantastic and cozy home on wheels.
Clifford is a 2015 Ford Transit, Medium roof and allows for anyone 5'8" or shorter to stand up fully inside. Clifford drives VERY well and handles like driving a car. Has a lot of power and get up and go for a big tiny home on wheels.
Clifford is really the perfect size for vanlife because it is big enough to be comfortable (two people lived in it for one year, one person lived in it for 3 years) but also small enough that it's easy to drive and easy to park.. you can park pretty much in any spot that a normal truck or SUV could park.
Pretty efficient on gas for it's size at an average of 15mpg. The transmission was rebuilt at 98,000 miles and I have proof of that. it now has 140,xxx miles and has always had fully synthetic oil changes and general maintenance consistently such as coolant flushes, transmission fluid changes, tires rotated, air filter etc. and any scheduled maintenance to keep Clifford running healthy.
Clifford includes:
- fridge and freezer
- towing package
- backup camera and double DIN Bluetooth stereo
-signal booster (i worked remotely full time for two years)
-A drinking water filter
-A 4 gallon water heater
-A convertible shower which turns into a sitting bench
-400 watts of solar panels mounted on roof
-A Maxxair fan
-Another fan in cab which allows for extra circulation or venting
-both fans can be open during raining
- bright night driving LED bar
- side step for easy climbing side door
- wall mounted, swinging arm TV / monitor
-propane powered stove with sealed/vented box for 20 gallon tanks OR currently used with a 1lb tank and using the rest of space as storage
-Sheeps wool insulation. Keeps rear living area 10 degrees cooler in summer and 10 degrees warmer in winter, without using any heating/cooling sources
-Has a diesel heater located under passenger seat which uses a very very small amount of diesel and keeps the van very warm and toasty. You can run this heater for days 24/7 on 3 gallons of diesel and be very warm.
-has a microwave
-has 300 amp hours of Lithium Battleborn batteries with a 3000 watt inverter/charger
-has a 30/50 amp plug in to charge the van with grid power and converter to plug directly to regular extension cord as well
-greywater tank under the van, with a lever right next to driver seat to dump the tank when pulling up on the lever
-water level monitor for both grey water and fresh water tanks (lights tell you how full the tanks are)
-30 gallon freshwater tank
-has a sink, a portable toilet, and pull out trash can built in
-mini kitchen with several drawers for storage as well as drawer slides that stay closed while driving without needing to do anything
-large trunk storage area
-custom security alarm system with motion detection and doors opened alarm that can be on while you're sleeping to wake you up if the doors were ever opened. VERY loud alarm for motion sensors to be armed when you're not near the van.
-GPS Tracking system built in to the van and hidden ($16 a month subscription for tracker, not required if you don't want it)
-Slicklocks puck locks installed on outside of van for additional security
-doors with padlock locks on trunk for extra extra security
-bolted down safe in trunk and in front cab.. trunk allows for important documents or valuable things you don't use often... safe in cab allows to quickly put your laptop in the safe when leaving the van
