Thank you so much for your interest in our Toyota RV a.k.a. “Amy Hiroki”
🚌 It has been a joy to have Amy with us for the past 2.5 years. She has been a rock!! We traveled with her across North and Central America and as we arrived in Costa Rica we felt we accomplished our mission with it. With a heavy heart, we feel that it’s time to let her go to give more joy and more adventures to her soon-to-be new owners. We’re selling it with everything included (plates, utensils, projector, solar panels, chargers, car alarm, blender, microwave, outdoor chairs, etc.) Everything you see in the photos, except for the Macbook, is included. We’re basically just taking our backpacks with us and leaving everything else in the RV so you’re ready to start your van life adventure.
It’s a motorhome like no other. The combo of vintage features with modern tech equipment, rebuilt and resurfaced interior makes it one unique home on wheels! It truly feels like home, a home you bring with you wherever you want. We bought her last November 2020 for multiple reasons:
⭐️1. Toyota RV is a vintage motorhome. Its price doesn’t go down if you maintain it properly and keep it in good condition. It’s hard to find these types of Toyota RV motorhomes because manufacturing stopped in the 90s and there are only a couple of thousands of fully functional units left in the world like this one.
⭐️2. Toyota RV is a Class C motorhome which is the perfect size for us with ample living space, bathroom privacy, and still fits in a normal parking spot because it’s the same length as a van. Plus, it has big windows so lots of light and breeze comes in!
⭐️3. The gas mileage is great compared to other RVs. It can run up to 16 miles per gallon on a good route and averages about 14 miles per gallon.
⭐️4. The engine is all mechanical. No computers so it’s easy and cheap to repair, maintain, and find parts wherever you are in the world.
⭐️5. The 22RE engine is one of the most reliable engines in history. It just lasts forever! You can google it.
The only downside of RVs (compared to Class B vans like a Sprinter) is that it’s harder to be stealthy when you are in a city. It’s easy to be noticed and we get attention, friendly waves, and friendly smiles every time we drive in a city.
➡️Amy Hiroki is a 1986 Toyota Dolphin, 21-foot Class C Motorhome. Everything works! No overheating, No oil leaking, No engine or transmission problems, and no roof leaks. Super clean and ready for traveling. We drove her from the USA to Costa Rica and she was perfect and runs strong! We just did normal maintenance (e.g. oil change, tune-up, replaced old tires, replaced brake pads, replaced fan belt) when we had her and we kept every maintenance record.
➡️22RE Engine, 4 cylinders, gasoline, automatic transmission with overdrive, 6 lugs (the safer chassis model), New batteries both cab and coach May 2023, front tires changed May 2023, back tires changed November 2021, brake maintenance November 2021, no leaks with roof newly painted with elastomeric paint for maintenance.
➡️ It has 73,205 miles on it and the living area interior has been completely remodeled and upgraded but the original layout and appliances were maintained. It is equipped with 200-W Solar panels and with the original Onan generator giving it off-grid capabilities. Dimensions are L=21ft., W=7ft., H=9.5ft. (similar to a normal delivery van and fits in a normal parking sport) and weight is approximately 5 tons.
➡️Clean title in hand from USA with 2023 registration and USA plates.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The RV is located in Costa Rica and with USA plates. It is meant for traveling across countries that’s why it’s best if you purchase the RV with a plan of traveling through Central, North, or South America. The buyer must be able to pick up the vehicle in Sámara, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
* If you are not in Costa Rica, we would be happy to buy you a one-way ticket (for 1 person) to Costa Rica and pick you up from the airport so you can start your van life adventures! All we ask is that you pay the down payment fee (You can read more at the end of the document about the price and down payment fee). Since it’s a USA plate, it’s easy to cross to different countries and you can transfer the title to your name even if you’re not in the United States and even if you don’t have a US address. There are services like https://www.overlandtitles.com/ that can help you do that. We’ll transfer to your name the temporary import permit (TIP) and issue a poder (That’s what they call Power of Attorney in Costa Rica) so you can use it right away while waiting for your new title to arrive in your mailbox. You can enjoy and start your van life journey from Costa Rica and we can give all the van life tips based on our experience so you won’t need to figure out many things.
* If you don’t plan to travel to different countries and you want to keep the RV mostly (more than 90 days) in Costa Rica then the RV would need to be imported in Costa Rica and get Costa Rica plates. In this case, The buyer will be responsible for importing the vehicle and all expenses related to importing. This is possible of course but please research first about importing vehicles in Costa Rica so you have all the information you need before purchasing the RV. We don’t have much information or experience about importing vehicles in Costa Rica so we cannot help you much with this scenario.

- 4-burner stove with propane tank onboard (Cook every day, fill up once a month or every two months)
- Microwave (located in the pantry storage)
- Original oven from 1986. We were able to bake cakes and make pizzas, among other things,

- Dishwashing liquid dispenser installed to make it more handy to use.

- Whiteboard Sliding Door to separate the living room from the bathroom where you can write ideas or just play.
- 2-seat and a dinette table convert into a bed, completing the roll-over couch bed.
- 1 sofa bed queen-size bed. You choose the vibe :)
- All cushions have washable covers and offer a cozy-comfy sleeping experience. The covers also protects the original upholstery.

- Fire extinguisher.
- Original Furnace from 1986 that runs on propane.
- Water resistant wood style vinyl floor style.
- Fan-tastic Roof Vent Fan. Strong fan with reverse mode. A/C was removed by previous owner because it was too heavy for the roof and uses too much power so it’s useless when off-grid/boondocking.

- USB and 12 V ports as charging station. Includes 12V chargers for laptops.

⭐️Those 2 last point are game changer especially for those who work online while on the road. The camper can sleep 5 people easily (2 in the bed above the cab, 1 in the 2-seat + dinnet, and another 2 in the sofa bed) and if your friends/family are into cuddling, you can fit 6.
Bathroom:
- Full-size shower unit

Tanks:
- 15-gallon undermounted fresh water tank
- 12-gallon undermounted gray water tank

Electrical:
- 200 Watt Solar Panels
- 30A Solar Power Charge Controller
- 12V Deep Cycle Battery (Replaced last May 2023)
- Original Circuit Breakers and Fuses
- Original Onan Generator. Very useful when it’s raining a lot and when using the microwave off grid.
- Includes 12V chargers for laptops so you wont need an inverter to charge your laptop. It dodesn’t make sense to use an inverter to convert to 110V AC the the laptop charger converts again to DC voltage. Using the 12V charger for laptop is more energy efficient.
- 200 W 12VDC to 100VAC portable inverter
⭐️The 200W Solar Panel and 12V Deep Cycle battery was enough for us to live off-grid and also charge all our electronics (laptop, mobile phone, camera, drone). We didn’t need a powerful inverter because we really just need 110V when we use the microwave or the blender which we don’t use much. If we need to use the microwave or blender then we just run the generator for a couple of minutes.
